What It’s About: How can Israel win in a complicated Middle East?
Presenter: Amir Avivi retired from the IDF in 2017 with 30 years of military, counter-terrorism, and national defense experience. Among his positions were aide-camp of the Israel Defense Forces Chief of staff, and Head of the Auditing and Consulting Department of the Israeli Defense Establishment. Establishment. Worried about the future of Israel, the tired state of Zionism, and the tunnel vision of politicians, Avivi founded IDSF in 2020 together with other high-ranking retired officers.
It has rapidly grown into a movement of more than 30,000 reserve officers and operators from the IDF, Mossad, Shin Bet, and Israeli Police who all promote a realistic vision of national security needs based on objective military principles. IDSF’s core activities include government briefings, research, education, and a grassroots movement. Brigadier General (res.) Avivi lives in Caesarea with his wife Anat and their children.
