05/28/09: CFNS CHAIRMAN ADDRESSES HADASSAH CONFERENCE
CFNS’s Chairman, Dr. William Saxton, recently addressed male Associates and regular members of Hadassah – the Women’s Zionist Organization of America - at its Florida Atlantic Region annual conference in West Palm Beach. His early-May talk focused mainly on activities of radical Islamists within the United States.
In addition to giving a detailed description of the overt, Pakistan-based Jamaat ul-Fuqra (aka Muslims of America in our country), Dr. Saxton spoke about how Islamic extremists are using stealth methods in the U.S. to raise money, and trying to win the hearts and minds of our youth. In contrast to the relatively high visibility of the former – 35 training camps in 22 states - he cited their more subtle techniques, such as cigarette smuggling and creating networks for clipping and redeeming consumer coupons to fund their international operations; and, inculcating their propaganda into textbooks used by K-12 public and private schools.
Judging by the almost endless Q&A following Dr. Saxton’s formal remarks, it appeared that he had really connected with attendees. As one of them put it, “Your presentation, although scary and disturbing, was fascinating to everyone who listened to you rapt in attention.” Dr. Saxton was also impressed with the positive way that those in attendance reacted to his suggestions for how they could personally become involved in dealing with these threats to our national security. “I clearly touched a lot of nerves,” he commented.
